Mark Choper - Owner and Head Driver
Mark Choper graduated from the Delaware Valley College of Science and
Agriculture with a BS in Animal Science. He then went on to graduate
school at the University of Delaware where he studied Neo-Natal Foal
Care. After graduation he became the Assistant Manager of Winterwood
Farm in Unionville, Pennsylvania. His next opportunity led him to New
Jersey where he was the Assistant Farm Manager at a large Standardbred
breeding operation. Here, Mark was in charge of the foaling operation
that foaled out 100-150 mares a year.
Mark went on to manage several other farms in the Massachusetts area.
In 1987 he moved to Georgetown Massachusetts to manage Kernwood, a prominent
Thoroughbred breeding and training farm. His five year tenure as the
manager eventually led to him leasing the facility and Fairway Farm was
established.
In addition to running the 70 stall boarding facility, Mark was in charge
of the stallion handling at Hamilton Farm in Hamilton Massachusetts.
During this 9 year period, he was able to work closely with many of the
area's Veterinarians including Dr. Bob Orcutt, Dr. Helen Noble, Dr. Brian
Parrott and Dr. Mary Kahan. The experience and knowledge gained here
has been carried over to Fairway Horse Transport's shipping practices
and standards.
